The International Conference in Emergency Medicine (INTEM 2010) hosted by the Society of Emergency Medicine India (SEMI), which was due to be held in the month of November 2010 at Manipal University, Mangalore, India, has been relocated to Ahmedabad in Gujarat, India. The Indian National Conferences in Emergency Medicine (EMCON) have been organized every year by SEMI since 1999. Every 4th year the conference has increased international presence and is known as INTEM.
Earlier, the responsibility for organising INTEM 2010 was taken up by Manipal University, Karnataka and the organising secretary was Dr. Madhusudan Upadhya, Head of Department of Anesthesia, Kasturba Medical College (Unit of Manipal University), Mangalore. According to SEMI, there were delays in conference organization, which would have prevented finalising all the activities in time. A meeting was conducted to relocate it immediately to the next eligible city, which was Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad was selected last year to host the EMCON in 2011.
INTEM 2010 will now be organised by LifeLine Foundation, Ahmedabad and Dr. Subroto Das, CEO for Lifeline Foundation, is the new organising secretary. The dates for the conference will be announced shortly.
